well well our adoring public, we have reached the thin air of cusco where we set off for the the inca trek first thing monday morning. not sure how we will fare, but id say we´ll be over the moon, when(if) we make it up. we are staying in a hostel chain called lokis in cusco, which is rammed with irish, and we´re conserving the energy, not drinking too much.

cusco´s a lovely little town, nice european style streets and very friendly locals, lots of women offering free messages and the the stereotypical little peruvian women, with the hats, poncho and lama combination.

when we return from manchu picchu, we´ll be doing some xmas present sending and then head off toward lake titticaca and bolivia.

adios for now

Kitsurfing in Mancora (its me by the way, honest)

howaya gringos, we left Ecuador for the sunny seaside of Peru. Becca found us here in Mancora so the group has grown but I´m sure we´ll get used to the extra weight, eventually. Mancora has been a lazy haze of sunbathing, swimming, watching the kiteboarding and general gluttony. The food here is amazing especially the sea food and late night visits to ´streetburger´, the passion fruit vodkas at happy hour have also been going down well. Unfortunately we have also been eaten alive by the local mosquitos, but I guess we´re giving something back. The locals are nice but incompetent and the fellow travellers have been a motley crew of ozzies, canadians and dutchies. Were moving on down the coast tonight to near Trujillo for some more relaxation before the Inca trail. Enjoy the photos (providided by Jen)!

Scratch the last post, its absolutly freezing here! We climbed Guagua volcano today which is 4200m and covered in snow up the top. It was great but the whole place was covered in a blanket of cloud as its the rainy season at the moment, so we couldnt see down into the crater. Luckily the rain kept off as we were up there though, however theres terrential rain now. Got my first taste of altitude sickness last night during dinner, it tends to come on fairly quickly after a few drinks! Here in Quito until sunday and then plan to get a bus down to the coast for a few nights. Looking forward to a bit of warmth...

Howdy!

Walked around the Old Town of Quito today. Its a lot warmer than we thought it´d be but cool enough at night. Just back in the hostel before the the thunder storm sets in which generally happens at three on the dot most days!
